Spanish steps

a monumental stairway that connects “Piazza di Spagna” at the base, with “Trinità dei Monti” church at the top. In Italian "Scalinata di Trinità dei Monti" a stunning baroque masterpiece. Since 1725 has become a symbol of Elegance and Roman Sofistication. Completed in 1725. SECRET: if you're feeling like you could avoid the climb... there's a lift.... shhhhhh!!! read about it in my guide below and make sure not to sit on the steps or you'll have the vigili on your back!

Explore the Barcaccia Fountain at the foot of the steps, designed by Pietro Bernini and his son Gian Lorenzo Bernini, adding a touch of artistic flair to the setting.

 

Piazza di Spagna

is the name of the square at the base of the Spanish steps. A bustling and popular meeting point, shopping destination. Come here to immerse yourself in a vibrant atmosphere of designer boutiques and charming cafes.
